Compliments

I had two people tell me I looked like I'd lost more weight yesterday. One person sees me every day, the other person hadn't seen me in a year. I didn't think I'd lost so much that it was noticeable so I decided tonight that I would weigh myself on the Wii and see what it said.

I had actually gained 1.5 pounds since I last weighed 11 days ago. Not what I expected but not really a big deal either.

Still, the compliments are nice to hear. It's a good feeling to know that others think I look good enough to comment on it!

Weigh-in!

Ashley decided to weigh Max today so I went ahead and popped on to check my weight as well! Max and I lost 2.5 pounds each, LOL
I'm at 143 pounds now and within the Wii's suggested BMI. I haven't taken any measurements and don't plan to until I start working out again. I'm glad to see I'm still dropping some just from food changes. I had plateaued when I started working out previously. The plateau in combination with being heavier than I wanted resulted in a poor outlook toward changing my lifestyle. Now that I'm near my ideal weight, the plateau during workout 'season' won't be as discouraging. I can focus more on the changes in my physique and not be so concerned about my belly. :-)

Weight

I weighed in on the Wii again today. I weigh every 2 weeks and no more, or else I get obsessive about it.

I am still consistently losing 2 pounds every 2 weeks. If I could remember the actual weight number, I'd post it. I honestly don't pay much attention to it except to compare to the last reading.

It makes me happy to see that line in a steady decline on the progress chart.

Monday and Tuesday were very tough days for me after having the excess food splurge I had last weekend. My brain kept telling me I needed more, more more but I had to stay focused and resolve not to give in unless my stomach told me the same thing.

Anyway, I don't normally update about things like this and figured I'd just go ahead.

Getting Started

I will post my most recent cholesterol levels and blood pressure readings later, since I have to dig around and find them first. I'll request another when I go to my annual checkup in April.

I will also post the body measurements I took when I started the Beachbody Insanity program (the first time, lol)

Around August or September of 2010, I stopped drinking soda. This decision was initially based on a tight feeling in my chest that I felt pretty consistently within an hour of finishing a can of Pepsi. Once I felt better, I started drinking it again but then consistently had issues with my gut so I cut it out again. Amazing how much better I can feel if I just listen to my body!

In October, I started working out with my friend Josh to the 60-day Insanity program on DVD offered by Beachbody (same company that put out P90X). I got through week 3 before I went to the doctor for extreme shin pains. He put me on a 2-wk mandatory rest. He didn't even want me walking when it wasn't necessary. So, after two weeks I didn't feel like working out anymore. Luckily for me (and everyone around me), Josh wanted to start up again so we did. We started over at the beginning and got about 9 days in when the holidays hit. So many conflicts in scheduling and we eventually just weren't doing it anymore. We officially started over again on January 1st. This time though, if there is a scheduling conflict, I'm doing it alone at home. Since I started January 1st, it's easy to figure out how many days I've completed so far!

As of November 2010, I started incorporating a pound of vegetables into my daily diet. In December I started eating at least 2 servings of fruit as well.

So that's the history leading up to today.
